Dating is nothing like it used to be for the younger generation. I am pretty sure many have noticed this. Those in their 20's are not much into dating. Some are more focused on becoming established and having a flourishing career. There are however a small percentage that is into serious dating, but there are not much of those around. Tradition is basically no longer here. Dating has become completely different from what it used to be. This generation of people is much more set on having careers and being financially stable instead of having a family. People much rather be independent in this day in age.
The numbers show that the average women are now getting married at 26, while the number was 20 in the 1950s. But it is not just women, as men are now putting off marriage for nearly a decade, as compared to their grandfathers. For the young adults that have decided to focus on individual pursuits, rather than small-sphere communal, Hall questions the ability to adjust to the concept of monogamy once they are ready to settle down.
Studies have now shown that the increase in life experiences prior to settling down make a young person much pickier regarding whom they will date. The methods of dating have now changed rather staunchly as well.
With the advancement of the internet and social networking sites, people have lost courage when they do go out in public and have to talk to someone that they may be interested in. Casual sex has also changed the dating scene.
Online dating is also something that must be questioned because is it really dating? Just talking to someone on the internet and on the phone can't really qualify as real dating unless you guys are really meeting up and having face to face conversations. Now there are those in the younger generation that are no for online dating.
